EHI Call for Inner Elder Proposals | Poetics of Aging 2011 Conference

This conference focuses on the exploration of the beauty and depth of life at any stage and age. The conference mission is to counter the mainstream understanding of aging as a decline and/or disease with a more expansive, humanistic, and creative–that is poetic–vision and approach. Together we shall create a climate where people exchange ideas, feelings, and information and partake in creative expressions, while providing room for self-study and discovery. Inner elderhood is a tribute to inner growth and wisdom that accumulates throughout life and can be tapped into regardless of actual age. It is revealed in all we have learned and continue to learn about navigating our unfolding lives that call on us to meet challenges and opportunities. Inner elderhood is an ongoing process and this conference will provide presentations highlighting how our inner world can continue to meet the outer world in a fruitful way.
